Rosalie Forest / 3 Rivers Eco Lodge, Dominica : At one with nature, secluded and safe in the jungle

TRANSPORT
Rosalie Forest is situated a mile or so inland from Rosalie, on the east coast of Dominica.

Whether you arrive at one of the airports, or at the ferry terminal, there are normally plenty of taxis waiting. Whichever port of entry, the journey time is around an hour, and expect to pay betweenEC$150 -200/ US$60-80 for your taxi, depending on your port of entry. Alternatively, if you arrive early enough, there are buses and hitchiking works well enough

From Melville Hall airport, follow the airport exit signs past the car park to the main exit barrier.

Turn right over the bridge as you leave the airport barrier and follow the road through and past the town of Marigot and stay on the main road until the main road crosses a bridge, bends right only, and leaves the coast.

You will pass immediately on your right a hotel called Silks, and you should turn left, over another bridge, towards the Carib Indian territory. DO NOT head straight on up the mountain.

Stay on this long windy road for about half an hour, passing through several Carib Indian villages, until, when you reach the town of Castle Bruce, the road ends.

You will see a playing field in front of you, and a health centre on your left.

Turn right, away from the ocean.

Then immediatley turn right again at the first turning, where you will see an old closed down gas station.

Carry on up the long windy mountain road, passing the school, for about 20 minutes, then passing the Emerald pool until the road ends.

At the end of the road turn left.
