THE SOUTH-EAST TOUR
GRAND FOND - DERNIERE FALLS
Only a half hour walk, down a steep windy mountain trails and lots of steps, brings you to a beautiful little waterfall in a rock covered canopy cave, with a cathedral like shelter of trees overhead. Quiet and cool ; not on most maps.
RAVINE CYRIQUE - DOMINICA'S BEST KEPT SECRET
After a short drive you will reach the village of Riviere Cyrique, then a fifteen minute walk, followed by a difficult tree root descent of a cliff, you will reach Ravine Cyrique.Here, you will see a magnificent waterfall cascading from 130 feet up the cliff directly into the ocean. The beach can only be reached by climbing down the cliff, so if you are scared of heights, this part of the tour is not for you, and can be replaced with an easier alternative ! Not on the general tourist maps.
BOETICA & GLASSI POINT - A lake in the ocean ... almost !!
After a real local lunch at Ti Totti little restaurant in Riviere Cyrique, take the half hour drive to the village of Boetica.A short and easy half hour walk down from the village, taking in spectacular cliff and sea views, brings you to a big flat piece of lava rock with a large hole in the middle filled with sea water, where you can take a refreshing bath when the sea is calm enough, and enjoy the stunning views from the cool pool. The hike back up to the village is a little more tiring..
