Deep in the heart of the rainforest, is the Rosalie Forest Eco Jungle Lodge. There are currently four houses in the forest ; each of them is made from sustainable materials and blends in beautifully with the jungle surroundings. Nature is all around you.

The Forest accommodation is set deep in the Rosalie jungle, and provides an incredibly unique experience to be at one with nature. The trail to reach them is a mixture of steep steps and uphill, wide, windy trails and takes about 15 minutes on foot from the main lodge, to total seclusion and tranquillity.
Each building has an electric light, powered by a wind turbine which is mounted 100 feet up in the trees over the rainforest canopy.
The water supply for the forest is collected rainwater. Each room has its own private washroom, with shower and state of the art composting toilets
For our camping guests, there are some communal showers, toilets and washrooms around the property, never far from where you are sleeping.
There is also a communal kitchen, available for everyone, where cooking can be done on the traditional coalpot, the fireplace provided, or on a couple of gas rings for the less adventurous guests!.
There are communal composting toilets, with all the necessary amenities ! Fresh drinking water is provided through a ceramic filter in the kitchen. All we ask is that you keep the noise to a minimum in order not to disturb the diverse jungle wildlife that you will surely see during your stay. But relax, there is nothing there that can harm you !

ALTERNATIVELY, you may take a slow ride on either George or Mildred, our two donkeys, although sometimes they can be a little stubborn and you may have to walk some of the way !!! The view is the forest, the sounds are the nature, which is why we do not allow motor vehicles up there, and why we ask that you do not play loud music. They will also carry your heavy bags to the forst for you if you ask nicely The wind turbine, which provides the power sits 100 feet above at the top of the canopy, but the wind in the area is barely sufficient for our small machine. Also, as our lodge has expanded, so have our power needs in the forest, and really we need more power, because the turbine we installed initially is no longer large enough for our needs. so we plan soon, to climb up the canopy and add some solar panels to the system; Meanwhile please enjoy the ntural light and lamps if the power is not always working.
If the power is working well, we are proud to show you what is possible in such remote and complicated locations, and if it is not working so well, we think it is good for all to experience natural nights in the jungle, living with the nature and necessities, and appreciating that we can all live happily and comfortably with less power, if we want to
